I have researched my Russian great grandfather quite well
But don't know much about his mother's side.

DNA matches frequently throw up certain.surnames

1 lady who matches my mum has this couple on her tree and we seem to match descendants of their daughters

Fanny TAUBKIN b1875- Russia d 1938 new York
 m George Modell 1871-1946

Children all born New York nee MODELL

From different trees + Records I have established married names
 Esther b1897 m SHULTZ 

1899 Kate m Harry KAPLAN b Edinburgh 1889-1975

Rose b 1900 m Samuel Dorfeld

Sarah1909 m ROMER

 1914 Helen m Samuel Rosenson

Son b1909 Louis B MODELL

1 tree has Fannies parents as being louisTaupkin
+Sara KOBRIN

I have links to other TAubkin families but not to many other MODELL s

Does anyone else connect to these families ?
 I've started a provisional private tree to see if i can work out connections

I wonder if the TAUBKIN name was spelt differently as they went thru different countries
+ If any branches anglisisced it maybe to TOPKINS

i can't find what became of the only son Louis Modell b 1908

But have found Fannie s siblings  from trees.

Another MODELL family  were originally MODELEVSKY from Russia
One tree has an incredible story of how parents and 6children were smuggled out of Russia in the early 1920s via Ukraine and Poland to USA

I would really like to know how they link to our family .

1 is grandchild of Rose Dorfeld

1 is great grandchild of Helen Rosenson.

Their are other links with surnames but no trees to confirm

I played around with the last link and did find some marriages but they were for living grandchildren of Louis Bernard MODELL I think one is for a living person who has a tree that is closed
I.ll look at other links after breakfast ..I think i.ll get lost if I join too many sites + I won't be able to transfer information I find to my Ancestry tree.

I must admit other sites seem to be much easier to use
