ADDED - have looked at the original 1871 census and Emma's husbands name has been written as Daniel, it is the correct Emma John nee Pottle checked birth entry for their son Charles Croft John on GRO indexes and this confirms mother's maiden name

Thank you for assisting me its fantastic. I just want double check .. David Charles Johns is the son of Emma Pottle and David Thomas Johns and not someone else. Some of the records have a William Johns or a Charles C Johns. David Charles Johns was born 9 August 1851 in Cardiff according to Ancestry.com.
