Today I submitted Terry's death certificate to FindMyPast and requested the closed record be opened. This should take about 10 working days. Here's hoping that baby Williams was born on 5 Sept 1939 :)

Success!!!

Ter(r)ence A Williams has been unlocked and revealed in the 1939 Reg. His DOB is obscured but no matter - we now have a DOB for Edna - 20 Feb 1915.

No problem with mis spelling. Quite used to it as predictive text often changes things.

Yes, they are together at the unmarried mother's home at Eccles.

I wonder if this could be Edna's death - birth year 1 year out but not uncommon on death registrations

clutching at straws here but there is a Bertha Williams sweet shop assistant living with her sisters Edith & Annie in Liverpool in 1939
