1901 census
« on: Tuesday 07 July 20 18:42 BST (UK) »
Hi
Could anyone help with the 1901 census for Plymouth. I’m looking for a Margaret Wilson aged around 18/22. I think she’s was working as a servant in a large house. Bit of a long shot I know. She may have been born in Ireland.

Any help much appreciated

Thank you

Hi
Thank you. I don’t have any more. I was trying to trace the parents of Courtney Wilson. Thought his mother was in service somewhere in Plymouth area and called Margaret Wilson. I could be completely wrong. I’m relying on information passed down the generations but nobody has anything certain.
Thanks for your help anyway

When and where was your Courtney Wilson born?
If 1901 and after there is a Courtney Charles Wilson in 1901 Ipswich Surrey mother's maiden name Wade. The next one is a Courtney F Wilson  in 1927 mmn Griffiths.
Prior to 1901 there is a Courtney Septimus Wilson 1869 - far too early.

They have a son Courtenay born 1903 Plymouth.  Possible marriage to a Mabel F Downing in 1932.

Margaret Wilson mother is widowed by 1911.

This may not be the right family so any other scraps of info you have will be useful.

Aha  A Courtenay Wilson birth registered Dec 1/4 1903 Plymouth reg district 5b/221 but the mother's maiden name is Williams.  But he has siblings Jane c1897 Theodore 1901, Archibale c1909

A Courtney Septimus J Wilson and a Margaret Williams  are on the same page of marriages FreeBMD June 1/4 1891 Plymouth reg district

If none of this relates to your Courtney and Margaret at least you can rule them out.
