Baptismal Query, Redford of Banbury.
« on: Wednesday 08 July 20 10:44 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,
I have a query, whilst re checking information I have I have come across a note on my records regarding my great grandfather and his siblings. My Great grandfather, Alfred Harry Redford was born in 1860 in Banbury and I gave a baptism record for hi  from 1 Sep 1860 St. MARY Banbury. His sister, Harriot Emna was born 1862 and I have a note next to her that she was baptised in 1870 together with her 5 siblings at Christ Church, Banbury. The parents names were William and Mary Redford (new Gibbs) , the other siblings were William b 1865, Ellen Elizabeth b1867, Alice b 1868 and Ann b 1869.
Is anyone able to confirm this for me as I cant seem to find Christ Church PR online.
Many thanks in advance for any info.

One of the children had Birmingham as a birth place on census - was that an error or could the baptisms have been there  :-\

Thanks again for your reply, again I have that on my records, doubt that she could be child of one of William and Mary's daughters, Harriet was eldest daughter she would only have been 5 when Ellen was born, cant explain the Aston birth as all the others are in Banbury, it's the baptisms I am looking for.

It could be a child of Williams sister that they have 'adopted'.  There is an 18 year old Elizabeth Redford in Aston in 1871 - RG10/3157 f168 p35

Anyway as you mentioned it is the baptisms you are after.  I can't see Christ Church online but hopefully someone can find them for you
