M. Payne
« on: Wednesday 08 July 20 10:59 BST (UK) »
Can anybody tell me anything about M. Payne of Bracknell  please.

Abt 1910 he was advertised aBuilders contractors, Undertaker and Sanitary Engineer

I am particularly interested in finding out  names any children that he or male his children had abt 1925.

I think Michael Payne Who was a vet from the 1950s until 1970s in the Bracknell, Windsor Maidenhead area may have been a descendent

Thank you for that Shaun.
I think that he MP I have in mind was married to Pamala, although there said be no census info because I wthink that the marriage was in the late 1940s but before early 1960s.

But, one never knows. I have found quite a few people who I thought were married and were not.

A daughter Pamela (1930-2014) was born to Gilbert Varcoe Payne (1894-1972);  Gilbert was the son of Martin Payne and Ellen Varcoe.

Gilbert appears to be the only child of that marriage.

Pamela and another daughter appear to be the only children of Gilbert.

Thanks for that.

I have had a search myself.
I can not remember any close detail other

Than Michael Payne, b. Abt 1925
And partner Pamala, perhaps younger
Imagine that they lived near Windsor, at least in the late 1950s early 1960s
And near Cadnam or Fordingbridge in the early 1970s
Abt. 1977 Michael was the vet in residence at Windsor Safari Park

I can’t find any Pamala using Family Search link supplied

Perhaps there is an alternate spelling or they were not married or were in a second relationship.

If Gilbert was the only child of Martin  and Ellen, and Gilbert only had daughters, then it seems unlikely that Michael is a  direct descendant,  unless one of the girls had a child whilst unmarried or married a Mr Payne.

I agree.

It is not really important. More one of those stray ‘ I wonder how ‘insert the name of your choice here’ fits into the picture. Michael Payne was the vet for a family business ‘was described tome as a friend of the family’
Which reminds me, some time I made a contact who provided some information that may give another clue.
I’ll try and find it.

Amazingly I have just found the 1977 veterinary register.  There is no Michael Payne.
