Edward Fincers
« on: Wednesday 08 July 20 12:41 BST (UK) »
This is a long shot but here goes.

Can anyone suggest a possible marriage for Edward Fincers in the Great Chart area pre 1625?

All I know so far is that he had two daughters

Margaret christened in August 1625
Mary christened in December 1627

His wife may have  been either a Margaret or a Mary based on this.

The name could also be spelt Finsers.

Also it would be good to know if there are any other Fincers in that area between 1580 and 1650. I have not yet been able to find Edward's christening or burial or identity any other possible relatives.

Many thanks
Matt

Hi

Now that looks very promising, many thanks. I wonder if VINCERS/VINCENT was misheard/mistranscribed as FINCERS/FINCENT either at the time or later when the records were transcribed. I've only found the name written as Fincers two times, these two christenings, so that would certainly explain it.

This definitely gives me something to work with.

Many thanks

Matt
