There is a LUCY Perry Bapt 15 Feb 1829, St Peter and St Paul, Wolverhampton to WILLIAM/ELIZABETH
Godparents: William RODGERS and Helena EDWARDS.

Unfortunately she is not with her Parents 1841 but is a 12 year old Servant in Wolverhampton.
1851 she is unm and a servant also.

So many Lucys around that could be the 1847 Marriage witness but this Lucy was Bapt same Church as Joseph Perry married 1847.

And as stated by CaroleW posted a Tree has Josephs Parents as WILLIAM/ELIZABETH

Also in 1841 Joseph unfortunately Joseph is also not with family members.

Worth looking at.

Thank you so much Trish, William Rogers is likely to be John's father William so it looks as though there may well be a family connection.
I wonder if Martha's mother Sarah Perry could be Joseph's aunt, William's sister. All I know is she was born about 1804 and married her husband John Mayo in Walsall in 1825 and that he came from Bloxwich.

Yes I did think that also. Although Sarah Mayos burial is on FreeREG 1847 I cant pin down a conclusive Bapt for her as Perry

That is interesting, I will look further into that. I'm starting to wonder if Joseph was born in Shropshire on a visit for some reason but his family didn't actually live there, especially as there doesn't seem to be a baptism and the rest of the family are from Wolverhampton.

I'm sure I saw a Dudley bpt  earlier.  I'll look back.  Some of my family moved between Shropshire/ Denbighshire and Dudley, Willenhall and Wolverhampton in the early 19th C
