Looking for Louis Milletto born in Italy

Louis Milletto was born in Italy in abt 1847.  I think the province of Asti but not sure.  He immigrated to the United States, Park, Indiana and married Margaret Simpson in 1881.  They then traveled to Canada where they had 2 children.  Louis work as a miner.  He died in British Columbia, Canada in 1886.

I am interested to see if there would be any military records.

the Licence was issued the day before - 14th May 1881
I can't see an occupation for Louis - or an age - but according to getstarted he would be around 34 ..he died 5 years later
according to the Canadian record he was b 1847 and died 1886 aged 39

I am struggling to see how you think he was in the Military ?  if he was a miner ?
do you think he may have joined the US Cavalry when he arrived in USA ??  do you know what year he arrived in the USA ??

Louis Milletto appears in the 1880 US census.  Single and a boarder working in the mines in Parke, Indiana.  A year later he marries Margaret Simpson and moves to Canada.  As he was born in  Italy in abt 1847 and immigrated in late 1870s I thought he may have had to join the Italian military as I think they had conscription before his immigration.  I also have never been able to find his immigration record.
