Irish Army Records
« on: Thursday 09 July 20 19:53 BST (UK) »
On doing more research and checking my ancestors death certificate, she is listed as an army pensioners widow. Her husband was a Thomas McCann . Born Lurgan/Portadown 1818 and the family were also brought up in Lurgan. He died aged 69 years on 1st Feb 1887 at Derryinver. Where the farm was. Can anyone tell me if there is any way to check if he is listed in the military etc. His wife was Margaret Small who died the year later in Portadown. Many Thanks . Pat

Back in  the day he was in the British Army so if records existed they may be able to be found.  A number of Thomas McCann records survive but none found so far that fit - others may have more luck, I've run out of time!

Have you found their marriage record? His regiment may have been noted.
