Help Organising Photos
« on: Friday 10 July 20 15:35 BST (UK) »
I've finally got around to scanning loads of family photos which is going fine.

What I want to do next is to sort them into into the right chrono order.  I'm using Photos on a Mac and I can't find any way of doing this.

Is there photo software that would let me move photos around until I have them in the right chronological order?

Hi

A first thought:

Use  date  of pic as prefix to each pic - yyyymmdd.name
In Photos, you can use Sort and use  Sort by name.

Gadget

Add - it's in the View menu

Trouble is - I need to organise them first before I can date them.

I've got a few rough dates but I'm trying to get them in order by seeing the changes in children and the seasons by the clothes and vegetation in backgrounds.

I've tried by names but that collects all the photos of each person together.

I've had another suggestion which seems to be working - by putting the photos as icons into a folder, I can move them around.  When I get them right, I'll label them numerically and move them back into Photos in the right order.
