OK, so I originally used a false year of birth to register, as I thought for security.
Now I have been having countless adverts apparenly based on my age.
I went to my profile and changed my dob, but now I can`t log in.
FB are asking for ID which confirms my age,  but I can`t supply any because I fibbed in the first place.
I can`t see anyway around this. If I create an new account will I loose all my friends and previous posts.
Help please  :)

I know,  but there you  go. I'm concerned that if I make a new account I may lose all my previous activity.
FB is useful,  but sometimes a pain in the bum 😉

I changed mine about half a year ago with no problems.

Wonder if there is a limit, to how many tries you have,  like on other sites, and hence you can't get back in?  Perhaps for scamming purposes?

FB also notifies me on my mobile if there has been unusual activity if I sign in from elsewhere.

Cheers

Fb are asking me for id, to confirm dob which I presume is passport etcc. It's a right palaver.
I'm just wondering if I create a new account I lose all my previous posts.
I am a member of lots of local history groups,  so don't want to lose my input.

Surely they don't want physical proof of age, usually it just means clicking something to confirm. Lots of people don't give their right age on there.

Found this

"If your birthday was recently changed, you may have to wait a few days before you can change it again. To help make sure that people use their real identities on Facebook, there's a limit to how many times you can change your birthday."

Also found this - but I certainly wouldn't send them scans of my passport etc

Did you see one of the IDs they accept is a Bank Statement! Who on earth would be stupid enough to let them have a copy of that? Why ask for all that when you can open a FaceBook account without ID?
