Thanks for the link. Spent some time searching for Emma on the site and found that the surname was written as Littleburgh. I believe it's the one that you found CaroleW.

Is it possible she changed her name after reaching Canada?

When Emma' birth was registered she was Emma Maud Fountain Chittleburgh 1898 Yarmouth

It's more likely to have been a spelling error than a name change.

CaroleW, sorry I should've clarified myself - I meant could she have changed her name after possibly being adopted into a family to their surname or even changed her first name, which is why I can't trace her?

Edit - sorry just checked amondg's comment, she hadn't changed her name in 1919

Elizabeth Sarah is the daughter of  John Myhill Brown & Sarah Ann Bowles. Elizabeth born 1861 Yarmouth. She had at least 3 siblings with a second christian name as Myhill.

Thank you John - this must be my Elizabeth Sarah. I double checked her birth registration and mmn BOWLES, Q1 1862 Yarmouth. According to the baptism I have, her birth date is 25 Dec 1861, parents John and Sarah.
