Where could I view these details in the hope of finding out more about him thank you

British Army records are not kept in Ireland so the National Archives in Kew I guess.

Hi Valerie you will find his service records on Find My Past
Peter Byrne born in the parish of Dolphins Barns attested for the 16th  regiment of Lancers
At Dublin 3 December 1822 age 19 years
Discharged 31 August 1838 unfit effects of climate aggravated by excess drinking
Service 15 years and 51 days in East Indies and remainder at home

But not the discharge this is my 4 x times G grandfather wow thank you
Obviously No mention Of parents  or wife still an  amazing Find from you

As much as I have looked at this document I can’t see the excess drinking and climate bit, I’ve have no Doubts In My mind this was the case lol just can’t see that bit

Have you viewed all the pages as it's mentioned on several the writing is quite hard to make out you might need to enlarge it a bit ..
