Market St, Montrose
« on: Wednesday 15 July 20 09:25 BST (UK) »
My grandmother had 11 children (with my grandfather - there was another). All were born on farms near Montrose. My grandfather worked on farms within a fairly small radius, until his wife died and he emigrated to NZ where 4 of the children had moved.

But one child Davina was born at "2, Market St, Montrose" 10 Mar 1903.  I can guess (but won't)  all sorts of reasons for this urban move, but wonder if anyone has information about this location in 1903?

Currently it seems to be in a housing area.

Many thanks

In 1905 it was the corner of Upper Hall and Market and is still there and probably hasn't changed much except for those buildings which have burned or fallen and replaced with something else.  If the numbers have remained the same its the 2 storey marked #4 (has two entrances).  Seven living there in 1905 + one empty and no Frasers.
