Family Search - Log in issues
« on: Wednesday 15 July 20 17:50 BST (UK) »
Anybody having problems with FS?

I log in - select to stay logged in for 2 weeks - but if I leave the site even for an hour or so I have to log in again

This is only happening on my iPad - not my desk top PC - and is a recent thing as I have never had a problem before

It has been like that for me on both Windows desktop and laptop, and on different browsers, ever since the site was re-configured.

It sounds as though it is something to do with cookies.

I clear the cache, etc in my  settings when I leave my browser so I have to logback in if I want to access family search. It only takes a sec or two.

Have you changed your browser settings ?

No - not touched any settings on either of my iPads for quite a while.  I tend to use my iPad more than my desk top these days but out of curiosity I did some testing on my desk top and it’s fine

This problem started last week and initially when I logged in - it would appear to accept it but then flash back to the log in screen and I had to repeat the process.    This happened about 3-4 times before I could finally get access.  There was no error with log in details

That seems to have gone but still have the existing problem of having to log in every time

On two tablets, Windows 10, FS frequently asks me to log in again during a session, but when I click Log In it does it for me automatically  ::)

No issues on desktop.

Two days ago the site was displaying in what looked like Dutch or Afrikaans!!!  It defaulted back to English after about 20 minutes.

I've been having the same problem for a couple of months.  If I check the 'Keep me signed in for 2 weeks' box, it says,  "Please don't use this option on a public computer."

But I'm not logging in from a library.  I'm logging in from my home on the same computer with the same internet provider that I've used for years.
