Life after discharge

I'm trying to find out what happened to a relative after he was discharged from The Royal Regiment of Artillery on 3.9.34. His name was John Findlay Sinclair b 31 May 1904 Tower House, Bridgeness. His Service Number is 1423937. Any suggestions?

Hi, have you tried the electoral roles, it could show profession as well as address etc

could you give any more information on him, or is this all you know about him?

Father was Daniel Sinclair (b1877; d1931) and mother was Helen Fraser/Stanners (b1886; d 1956). He had four brothers and one sister all born in/around Queensferry, Scotland.

Scotlands People has a John Findlay Sinclair marrying Agnes Renton in 1946 registered at Tranent.

Just to add that the only John Findlay Sinclair death on ScotlandsPeople is not your man, based on both age and year of death. There is, however, a John Finlay Sinclair, who's death was registered in Tranent in 1956, age at death was 56. The death of Agnes Sinclair/Renton nee Blain was registered in Tranent in 1992, her age at death was 80.

The John Finlay/Findlay Sinclair above appears to be the John Finlay Sinclair who's birth was registered in St Giles in 1900, so not the John Findlay Sinclair who was born in 1904.

Thanks, I was hoping if I could find information about his discharge from the army it might help me to locate him.

  at Edinburgh,
   occupation butchers Vanman,
   discharged ( no idea about these)   3/9/1928 A. R.

The reference to K. R. (Kings Regulations) means that he had gone from active service to a period of reserve service which was usually about 5 years so he will have almost certainly have  served in WW2.

He does not appear on the 1939 Register under his full name which could mean he was already back in the military or he was back in Scotland.
