Hugh Burns - Ireland

I was hoping someone maybe able to help me with finding out more information about my 3X Great Grandfather

I am looking for information on Hugh Burns (B: ab 1845 Ireland). From the information I know so far, Hugh was born around 1845 in Ireland. At some point he travelled to Durham, UK and married a Catherine Connor (B: ab 1852 Durham). They had a son, Thomas Burns (B: 1880 Chester le Street and he married a Margaret Harrison). They then went on to have a son too called Hugh Burns (B: 1908 Lanchester and he married a Margaret Haggon). They then had a daughter, Rosaline Burns (B: 1945 lanchester and married a David Young). They then had a daughter called Clare Young who went on to have me and my younger brother.

I am guessing Hugh Burns is a common name in Ireland, but I am really struggling to find any further information about him and his family (his parents, siblings etc) and I was hoping some of you maybe able to help me??

Marriage September 1871 Gateshead has Hugh Burns and Catherine Connor are on the same page. If that is your man, his father’s name would be on the marriage certificate.

As it happens the marriage certificate I ordered for Hugh and Catherine 3 months ago has just arrived this morning (very weird). The certificate states that Hugh's farther is called William Burns and I'm guessing he will most likely be from Ireland too??

On the census I have found, it states Hugh was born in Ireland, but as Hugh is a common name I am struggling to pin point exactly where in Ireland he and his family come from?

1891 Census in Wardley, Co. Durham has more children: Mary, Catherine, Jane, Thomas, William, Hugh, John, Samuel, Matthew, ranging in age from 16 to 11 months.  All born in Heworth except John born in Newcastle.  One more child added for the 1901 census -- Ellen, aged 9, along with a granddaughter, Cecilia Varkess, aged 3.

In the 1911 census, Samuel & Matthew are noted as nephews in the home of Peter Murray of Chester Le Street, who was born in Co. Armagh, aged 70.  His wife is named Mary born Co. Durham, aged 70.  The Murray connection may be worth following.
