Inquest abbreviations?

Hi,

I've come across two, which I believe are, abbreviations used in an inquest report.

The first (Ward_1) ...? recognized... maybe short for immediately  or instantly?

The second (Ward_2) abbreviation (sw) used for sworn testimony on oath or sworn witness?

Any help, and explanation gratefully appreciated.

Ward 1 word is immediately

Add - scrap that. I'll puzzle some more!

It just stands for sworn - meaning that the witness was sworn before giving testimony.

immediately is the only word that really makes sense but she's left half of the letters out! Could the marks above refer to an error or insert?

I think the line above the word could be a contraction mark, indicating that some letters have been left out of the word
