I don't know what Trystan has done that seems to be making everyone ecstatic but its made absolutely no difference to me. Still getting the unsecure message on Chrome.

Sorry, I can't be doing with having to go through that rigmarole over and over again every time I want to navigate the site. I was sitting back and being patient after your last message that you were working on a fix but, whatever you've done, it aint working on Chrome.  I'll try again in a few days.

Just noticed that even the Post Preview and Spellcheck buttons have all but faded away as well. or perhaps they're wearing a mask????  ;D
HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

I don't really understand all this. Last week when I could not access with Firefox, but could with Edge, my son sorted it out, (he is an expert) but I believe he did it through my settings. Looking at the screen now (Firefox), it still has a blocked padlock and says it is not secure? My son and I decided not to worry about it, but I am puzzled.

I’m on an iPad using Safari and for sometime (weeks) I have had the message Not Secure but I’ve ignored it. Yesterday I lost it briefly on the main page but it is back again today.

In very simple non technical terms could someone please explain to me how to get into the secure Roots Chat.

It may take several hours for everybody to see the 'padlock' and the more secure version on RootsChat. It can take up to two days.

It's all down to how how Internet Service Providers, and also one's own PC (or tablet etc) cache routing details to websites.

So, typically, say somebody connecting via a mobile network will see more things cached longer by their provider.

The other thing that can help too sometimes is rebooting one's computer.

So yes some of you will have no problems, and some still will for the time being.

Always the same. I go away for a few moments to do something really essential, like eating or sleeping. When I return, I find that THINGS have happened! I am not quite sure what these things are and as nothing seems different to me I might never find out. But rest assured that I am just as pleased as everybody else that they have happened. Carry on the good work everybody!

Oh what interesting times we live in!

Many thanks, Trystan, for waving your magic wand. :D  After several days of frustration good old RootsChat.com is now secure and I don't have to go through all that rigmarole each time I change a page.  I'm on Windows 10 and Edge, by the way.
