Nice work Trystan. Performance doesn't seem to have taken a hit at all, so whatever approach you've taken has clearly been very successful. In fact, I reckon the site is even perkier than before.

PERFETT - St Pancras & Marylebone, Rugby, Nottingham
RADFORD - Nottinghamshire, also back & forth to Bury

Many thanks, Trystan, for waving your magic wand. :D  After several days of frustration good old RootsChat.com is now secure and I don't have to go through all that rigmarole each time I change a page.  I'm on Windows 10 and Edge, by the way.

Always the same. I go away for a few moments to do something really essential, like eating or sleeping. When I return, I find that THINGS have happened! I am not quite sure what these things are and as nothing seems different to me I might never find out. But rest assured that I am just as pleased as everybody else that they have happened. Carry on the good work everybody!

Same as Gillg & Kiltpin.  :)
My "things" yesterday included hours gardening as weather was fine and forecast for today was rain, then eating, tv, bed.
I wouldn't be able to cope with "internet of things"; I'd be anxious about it going wrong or being hacked.

Thanks Nell,  have printed reply 8 ready to tackle when I return.   :)

Don't do that nanny jan. Now Trystan has updated the site there's no need to for anyone to change their browser settings (other than to revert their settings if they've already made that change).

Something to try is a 'force refresh' to try and update the certificate in your browser's cache. This isn't the normal refresh so you need to use a specific key combo for your given browser and operating system. The linked article has the details for various browsers and OSes.
