Yet the same marriage is in the parish registers of Barony, Glasgow -- Charles being shown as a Straw Hat Maker - and bride and groom described as 'both residing in Barony Parish'.

Freesia -- are either of them shown on census records as born in Canada?

I would take the entry from Scots in the USA and Canada, 1825-1875 with a pinch of salt. The Scotland, Select Marriages, 1561-1910 is probably from a film of the Parish Register

The filmed record of the marriage is on Scotlands People - in the Parish Registers (Civil Registration didn't begin until 1855 in Scotland).

I can't understand though, how it comes to be in the Canadian records - with the addition of a father's name (the father's name isn't in the Scottish record).
