Yes, I saw that. I am hoping that Carmarthenshire archives will help me

I've got access to Henllan Amgoed Independent Chapel (Meeting House) baptism/burial records - but they only go up to 1826

I wondered whether he was related to Simon Davies, child of one of his siblings perhaps

WILLIAMS, JOHN       mmn DAVIES
GRO Reference: 1852  June Quarter in NARBERTH  Volume 11A  Page 559

The 1861 has Phebes mother Mary James as a Lodger with them but it also states she is 'on a visit'
Perhaps young John is also just 'visiting'.

Yes I thought that but his sister was too young to have a baby in 1852. But this is definitely the connection. I do think he is the nephew of Simon Davies. Simon Davies was also the witness at his marriage. I feel they are definitely related. I will research the Davies’ some more. Thank you for your help  :)

It seems Carmarthen Record Office is still closed according to their Web Site and the Records are still at Glamorgan Record Office while Carmarthen Office damp problems are being sorted.
