Exchange Teacher
« on: Wednesday 22 July 20 17:46 BST (UK) »
In 1948 Gwladys Cowles of Bargoed, Glamorgan travelled to America on a teacher exchange programme and taught for 1 year at San Angello High School, Texas.  She exchanged places with Mary Jane Gentry.  Can someone please help find articles in American (1948) newspapers regarding Miss Cowles.
Kind Regards, Roy

Like everyone else all the newspapers seemed to having a problem with the "is it England or is it Wales" where some of the teachers were from. Myself I think I will take a nap now.

Good Morning all
Thank you for helping to build a picture of Gwladys Cowles's year in America; your kindness is very much appreciated.  I don't know why the newspapers have a problem with 'Wales or England' I guess it is a lack of local knowledge.  I am sorry it is causing you grief.

Regards, Roy
