ER is Electoral Register.  The period in question is not online so you would need to visit the records office and view them there.

Is your mother still alive?  If so -  did Auntie Annie have any children?  Does she remember any names?

Use freebmd to look for the childs birth which will give you Annie’s maiden name

We have not found Annie and Joe/Joseph Sadler.

We have found an Annie and a husband, who did not live at Colescliffe Road at death.

If someone could check the Electoral Registers for 66 Colescliffe Road in the 1950/1960s to see the names of the Sadler adults living there then it could confirm your Mother's information.

Annie and her husband could have moved away from Scarborough before their deaths.

Presumably your Mother could not remember going to a funeral for either of them, or approximately when they died?

I looked for names of all Sadlers who had died at Scarborough after 1950, found probate for several of them, but no Colescliffe Road addresses.

Google only finds Colescliffe Rd Scarborough -  not Coldcliffe.

Check with the records office that ER’s are available and sometimes they will do a quick lookup for you.  If we are looking at 1950-1960 - your mum was then between 10 & 20yrs old so may remember other names in the same household.

Auntie Annie may not have been born as Annie. For example - Hannah is often corrupted to Ann.  I had an Auntie Jean and was surprised to find she was born as Jane.

My late mother in law was always known as Eileen when in actual fact that was her 3rd christian name

No Joseph Sadler death in Scarborough

Re the 1977 Annie Sadler death - for £1.50 you can download a copy of her will which may help to determine if she is the right Auntie Annie
