Can anyone find this professor?
« on: Thursday 23 July 20 19:15 BST (UK) »
Hi all

I thought this search would be easy. Wrong!

I’m looking for a chap called Charles Edward Whiteley McFall, he was a professor of Forensic Medicine attached to Liverpool University according to the newspaper (Crewe Chronicle) article I have dated 1932.

Why? He was called to give evidence at a Coroner’s inquest held at Willaston Hall, Cheshire concerning the death of James Bayley, a retired naval commander, who was found with a gunshot wound to the head on his estate. McFall carried out the autopsy.

I’d like to know a little bit more about him if possible and perhaps find a picture so I can include in my research on James Bayley but I cannot find a single thing.

Many thanks

Jay

Are you sure about the name?  I see that a man named John E.W. McFall edited a book on forensic medicine.

Mabel! So it was John? Not Charles? Just goes to show that one shouldn’t believe everything one reads.
