Hi  :)

I think the baptism information you have been given isn't the right one? as that baptism took place in Staffordshire..... and you are looking for a George Wardle from Derbyshire ?

BUT - Hartington and Sheen are no more than a couple of miles from each other - both in the Peak District.   :-\

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I do not think the George Wardle baptised Sheen Staffordshire is the one you seek
In 1841 George Wardle is with parents Thomas and Margaret in Sheen Staffordshire
In later census his p.o.b. is given as Sheen Staffordshire

There is George Wardle of similar age consistantly giving p.o.b. as Upper Quarter Hartington - wife is Sarah Jane (sometimes entered as Jane)
Is this the George you are seeking ?
And do you have his marriage certificate/details?
