« on: Friday 24 July 20 18:30 BST (UK) »
If anyone has access to PR records for York, I'm trying to find the parents of Henry William Monkman who was born in 1818, and Baptized on 27 Oct 1818 in Holy Trinity Court.  All I have is that they were James & Elizabeth. ;D ;D ;D

Why the title refers to marriage, yet message body refers to baptism/ parents?

Yes, Pauline, Henry William Monkman (b.1818) was, in fact, an Attorney at law.  And I guessed that if his parents marriage could be found, it would show their full names.  :P :P :P :P

A Henry Monkman appears on the 1841 Census at St Olav Gate, York age 25 (a Solicitor) along with Margaret Monkman age 25 (Independant), and Sarah Winterbourn age 55, (also Independant).

The apprenticeship infers that James should still be around in 1841.
Did you find a candidate?

I'm unsure that the baptism refers to the 1841 chap.
James the father on the baptism  is a Publican.

Ancestry
Henry William Monkman son of Eliza Monkman widow apprentice to Thomas Walker solicitor 23 April 1833 York.

If this is the same man it would indicate his father had died.

Thank you everyone - lots of info to digest there - looks as if Henry William's parents could very well be James Monkman & Elizabeth Brown, even though they appear to be the couple who married in Middlesex..  .questions, questions......  ::) ::) ::) ::)
