« on: Saturday 25 July 20 16:33 BST (UK) »
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to find where members of my family tree were buried please. I have searched on "findagrave" web site but have got no where.. I am looking for a burial for Edwin Fisher died 1937 and Mary Jane Fisher not sure of date, both died in Reading Berkshire, have searched where I believe(was told) them to be buried ( Reading Old Cemetary London rd ) but to no avail.. Any help gratfully received as so many members would like to find but not sure how to find burail details. Thank you

Edwin Fisher
Age   84
Residence   344 Oxford Rd
Burial    19 Jan 1937
London Rd Cemetery (consecrated), Reading
Burial index does not give a reference for the grave

Could this be Mary Jane
Mary Jane Fisher
Age   65
Residence   Royal Berkshire Hospital
Burial    14 Aug 1920
London Rd Cemetery (consecrated), Reading

As you now have the date of Edwins burial maybe the cemetery would be able to tell you where he was buried

ADDED Was 344 Oxford Road the workhouse  :-\

London Road Cemetery has been closed to burials for a long time now. The records of the burials are at Reading Crematorium. They will search the burial registers for a fee.

There are a lot of burials with no grave marker. Our relatives were somewhere in an open grassy area with lots of others.

Halifax/Huddersfield area West Yorkshire
Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire and nearby areas.
Bilcliffe one name study all areas.

In 1930 it became a municipal hospital, taking the name Battle Hospital for the first time. In 1948
So seems Edwin died in Hospital not a workhouse..! :) !
