Mary Russell (1809-1886) nee Hookey
« on: Monday 27 July 20 16:31 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace Mary Russell born 1809, died 1886, Isle of Wight in 1851-1881 census returns.

I believe she was born Mary Hookey, married Henry Russell in 1827, Isle of Wight but can't see  a marriage record on the LDS website.  Henry Russell died 1845.   Children; Rhoda 1835, Emily 1838, Frank 1840 all born Isle of Wight.

Grateful for help, please.

Can't see Henry and Mary in 1841.  Yes, I believe Mary was born in IOW

Clearly, for me, yet another senior moment  - why could I not find what you could clearly see  8)  Perhaps I forgot to take my Covid mask off !   Many thanks for your replies.

There is another aspect to Mary.  In 1841, Family Search, linked to 'Similar Historical Records' is a family tree which shows Henry Russell married Mary Newlands.   Elsewhere in the Russell history is another tree with a Russell/Hookey marriage. I can't find either marriage to link with Henry Russell -  am I having another blind spot?   Both trees show the same children.  GRO record for Frank Russell born Isle of Wight 1840 shows his mmn as 'Hookey'.   Perhaps 'Newlands' is an incorrect input?
