I think the person simply left out an "i" and wrote a very open "a", i.e. Virgina. The "a" in Doubleday is open, albeit not too such a large extent.

What is a little strange is that Virginia Road is not long enough to have a house number 323...

Maybe the second 3 is actually a weird B..?

I found the Doubledays at 23 Virginia Rd, so I don't know where the other 3 came from or Avenue lol.
