Your original link  took me to a posting by Crumblie (#15) on a 9 page thread. I didn't see anything that related to Stanley Road which was why I put up my link to Street view.

I have 'latest message on top' in my preferences and very occasionally the link gets muddled but usually the link works.

It looks very much like the maternity homes that I remember from the olden days.

Lots of hospitals (especially old workhouses or mental hospitals) had a 'street address' which appeared on birth certificates rather than the hospital name

Have you looked at electoral registers for the relevant year?

As Stan says it seems to be an ordinary house in 1939 and also in 1911.

As Rosie says, maybe the mother was just visiting ir may be staying with relatives or friends - perhaps to avoid any gossip.

It could have also been a private lodging house, perhaps run by a midwife, rather than an official hospital or other institution.
