Could someone please date the photo below and give an approxate age of the man.

I believe the badge worn in the photo my also be a Sliver War badge if anyone could confirm.

Yes an SWB first issued late 1916 & became surplus to requirements after the war.
So late 1916 - 1919.
Looking at the way he's dressed & the style of the photo I think this is 1918/19.
If you have a possible name we can look him up on the SWB list.

This is consistent with the date I gave of 1918/19.
You'll notice his discharge Bde. was 5C.
This is what the LLT says:

I guess there is a high chance this could be Thomas? Would you say the age of the man coincides with a birth in 1888-1889?
