Could the James Jones in 1911 be this one?

James b 1879 in Quarry Bank*****
Hannah b 1880 in Quarry Bank
John b 1883 in Quarry Bank
Richard b 1886 in Quarry Bank
Mary b 1891 in Quarry Bank

Birth Reg;
JONES, JAMES  ERNEST     -
GRO Reference: 1876  D Quarter in STOURBRIDGE  Volume 06C  Page 219

So born before the 1879 Marriage of Richard/Sarah and likely not his Son?

Trish :)
I think the James was James Henry jones-1911census he was with wife mona - there is a 1900 marriage of James Henry Jones to mona brettle
I am out at the moment so this is from memory - will recheck when I am home

Suz

I think James Henry Jones married Monah Brettle is a mistranscription of James Turley Jones

I couldn't find James and Mona in 1901 but I now think this is them -the entry is "out
1901 57 Maughan? St Quarry bank
Richard Turley Head W 45 carter Lye Worcs
JAMES TURLEY son S 22 Coal Miner Hewer Quarry bank
John Turley son S 16 Quarry Bank
Richard Turley son 14 Quarry Bank
Mary Turley daughter 9 Quarry Bank
MONAY JONES Boarder S 21 Lye Worcs
James and Mona were both married at the time of the 1901 census -but they are both entered as single - Monah is using the name Jones which is the nameJames gave upon marriage -but James is using the Turley surname

opinions please

I think you are right. Why James and Mona didn't give the right information on the census is certainly a mystery. Then again, that's what makes this family hstory stuff so interesting!
