The census say they were all born in Clydach in Glamorganshire

Im afraid my knowledge of Wales is very poor and im referring to maps all the time to try and find places. and working out proximity to other locations. He was born in Clydach most of his lifetime events are clydach and he dies in nearby Neath. He doesn't travel far from what I can see.

Chris, the 1911 census details you have detailed whilst they show a place of birth as Clydach John is aged 37 so born c1874 not 1878, I think unless you descend from one of those children you may be following the wrong man.

Its the right man John. That age in the census is the spanner in the works. I'm doing a tree for a friend, thinking her tree was all Scots. Its all Welsh.  In the 1939 voters register it gives his date of birth and its 1878. The address is known to the family. One of the children is a direct descendant of my friend. Thomas Emrys Lewis is her grandfather.
