Harriet Taylor - Willenhall
« on: Friday 31 July 20 16:46 BST (UK) »
We are trying to locate the mother of Harriet Taylor b in 1850 in Willenhall  Staffs her birth would be registered under Wolverhampton. We do know her father was Henry Taylor b 1822 ish in Darlaston though he sometimes said other places. We have found a Henry on 1851 census but sadly no Harriet and Henry is lodging so his later "wife" Louisa (who may or may not be Harriets mother) is not with him either nor can we find any Louisa with baby Harriet. Harriet went on to marry John Lounds in 1879 and had a tribe of kids before and after the marriage. As there seems to be a few Harriets born in Wolves around that time we are drawing a blank. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance M x

She's 9 on 1861 and 19 on 1871, so born c1852? Unlikely to be on 1851 census

Looking through the GRO register there's a number of Taylor births in Wolverhampton with mother's maiden name Baker which match the children on the censuses. Can't find a matching marriage though!

Thank you this is useful. We think maybe the dates were slightly out we not even sure if Louisa is Harriet's mother. Please can you post baptisms you have found. Thank you M x

This one is a big "maybe". There's a marriage between Louisa BAKER (father George) and Henry BUTLER occ:Jobbing smith (father Henry BUTLER) 31 May 1852  Willenhall St Giles.

The occupation for Henry really caught my eye....

Louisa BAKER is on the 1841 Ancestry as Leweser BAKER in Willenhall.
