can anyone find the elusive Mary
« on: Sunday 02 August 20 16:16 BST (UK) »
Hi  Hope you are all safe and well   Can anyone assist me in finding a Mary Diana Johnson please
Born Mary Tinklin/g ?1866 in Tupsley Hereford
Turned up in Derby 1881 census as Mary D Johnson along with mother Louisa Johnson a widow and Brother Abraham Charles Johnson DoB 1860
In 1886 Mary D married a Thomas Orgil   I think he passed away and she then married again a Theaore Hitchcock  DoB 1862,  this second marriage is on hearsay so not sure,   so can anyone tell me, ???
Was there any children from this or these marriages  and anyone tell me where she was in 1939 registry in Derby please

most appreciated

If she was born Tinklin  - how did her surname become Johnson by 1881?

Brothers birth registered as Tinklin March qtr 1861 - mmn was Evans

Mary Diana Tinklin b March qtr 1866 - mmn Evans

Correct   Carole
Louisa had placed her children in the workhouse by 1870 as her husband Charles Tinklin had died,
She supposedly married a Charles Johnson who also died by the time she was  living in Derby,   I think she was living over the sticks with a young Charles Johnson who left her when arriving in Derby,
A very complicated family

Mary Diana married as Johnson - Thomas Orgill (2xL)  He may have died 1888
There are 2 Theodore Hitchcock marriages in Derby - 1882 & 1896.  No matching spouse to Mary

We already know she married Orgill in 1886 but if he died 1888 - where was Mary in 1891?
