Great! That will be him. I had looked at immigration records, but not closely enough! He must have left his wife here either for her to travel at a later date or abandoned her, but he went to the USA! Thanks so much  :)

I do think the immigration and the death in California is correct though.

Yes I think so too, Was referring to marriage and census. Wish I could find out what happened to Jeremiah though.

My guess is he died in Denmark. No idea why they went there though.

Just for anyone else who might come across this, the immigration record in 1889 travelling to the USA and hoping to settle in Nebraska isn't the George Barber I am looking for.

The George on the record was travelling with a James Barber aged 10 and I have found James in the USA and they did indeed settle in Nebraska. This James is called James Clayton Barber born on the 1st  Dec 1878 in Stretton, Cheshire, parents George and Isabella. And he died on the 24th May 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Could this be "County Farm" as per the Los Angeles, California, death certificate?

From my research yes it seems to be the only County Farm in the area.

Selenia E Barber Cousin Single 33 House Keeper Denmark Toning?

Hi
Toning looks to be Tönning.
Tönning is in Schleswig which up to 1864 was Danish and is now in Germany. You would need to look in Schleswig-Holstein to find info for this family. I have looked for records through Denmark but nothing turned up in what is available on-line.
