Ann Jackson born circa 1831-33 Appleton, Cheshire.
« on: Monday 03 August 20 10:32 BST (UK) »
I’m having trouble finding a birth registration for Ann Jackson born abt 1831-33.

I know she married Peter Lea at St Elphins Church Warrington on 11th Nov 1855.
Her father is listed as William Jackson a labourer. I have no idea of her mother’s Christian or maiden name.

In 1841 Census she’s possibly listed in Stockton Heath along with two bothers
Peter Jackson 11
Ann  Jackson  5
Thomas Jackson 4
In the care of a woman called Mary Burgess 40 a Waterman’s wife. No sign of either parents.

In 1851 Census she’s listed as Ann Jackson 17 Grappenhall, Warrington as a General Servant. Born Appleton, Cheshire.

In 1861 Census, after her marriage, as Ann Lea 28 living 75 Barley Castle, Appleton, Cheshire.

And all the way up to 1911 as Ann Lea 78 living near Barley Castle, Appleton, Cheshire.

I believe she died in 1913.

I know she could have been born somewhere else but I’ve no idea where. And as Jackson is a common surname I’ve hit a wall.

I do know she’s not the Ann Jackson born 1831 in Witton-Cum-Twambrooks, Cheshire as the Census details don't match.

Thank you in advance. Hope you can help.

You won't find any birth reg, at best you would find a baptism.

In 1861 Census, after her marriage, as Ann Lea 28 living 75 Barley Castle, Appleton, Cheshire.

75 is the Schedule number not house number.

Have you tracked Peter Jackson & Thomas Jackson on later census

Who were the witnesses to her wedding
11 Nov 1855 St Elphin, Warrington, Lancashire
Peter Lea age  22, Labourer, Bachelor, Bank Quay
Ann Jackson  23, Spinster, Sankey St.
Groom's Father: John Lea, Deceased
Bride's Father: William Jackson, Labourer
Witnesses  John Burgess, (X) & Jane Yates, (X)

In 1841 the children are not in the same 'household' as Mary Burgess and her 2 children but are sharing accommodation with 4 other children (Nancy, Ellen, Henry & Mary Yates) and a John Green.  There is a further female adult in the same property with her children but also a different 'household'

It is possible that the Yates children have parents John and Mary and were baptised in Warrington

After reading your replies (Thanks :))

I found Thomas Jackson in the 1851 Census living next door to John Burgess in Appleton, who possibly witnessed his older sister's Ann's wedding in 1855. Can't quite see the connection yet but I feel like I'm getting closer...

This looks like the birth of George Burgess who was on 1841 census
BURGESS, GEORGE       mmn GREEN
GRO Reference: 1841  March Quarter in OF THE RUNCORN UNION  Volume 19  Page 205

John Green who is in the property could be Mary Burgess's relation

ADDED
I think this is the other Mary in the property in 1841 - Mary Pierson

Marriage: 27 Mar 1826 St Elphin, Warrington, Lancashire, England
Samuel Pearson - (X), This Parish
Mary Heyes - This Parish
Witness: Charlotte Foulkes; William Webster
