Help deciphering Scotland Sarah Clark death certificate
« on: Wednesday 05 August 20 10:06 BST (UK) »
Hi there! Can anyone help me decipher the wording in this Scotland death certificate for Sarah Clark  line 26.

I have got:
Sarah
Clark
????? widow of
Peter Clark
???? widow  ???? of
Christopher Pallas

Her parents are Michael Lennan and Elizabeth Lennan (nee Gilmour?) but any insight into the rest of the words in that column would also be highly valued.

Many thanks in anticipation
???????

For the parents names, it looks to me like Michael Lennon. Crofter? (Deceased). Elizabeth Lennon m.s, Gilmour (Deceased).  M.s = maiden surname.

Not sure the father’s occupation is crofter. But looks something like that.

Might it be Pauper before the first "widow"?
The final "r" is strange, but the same as the last letter in Crofter.

Agree with Elwyn on the other points.
Not sure what is says before "Jonathan".

P.S. Welcome to RC!  :)

Great thanks. Could second cause of death be Pneumophthisis spelled Numophysis  ???

Sticking my neck out  here = was Peter Clark a Sacking weaver? And Christopher Pallas a Rail Clerk?

Good heavens. I wouldn't have got that! But now I think I can see Sacking weaver. Does it say deceased after that? (Would they write deceased, if they had already written "widow of" - it would be a bit doppelt gemoppelt, as they say in these parts.   ;D )

I'm having trouble seeing Rail Clerk, though. I wondered if it might be Pau(per) Decsd.

Pauper makes sense because I think she died in East Poorhouse.

I will try to upload clearer screenshots!
