regarding Letitia, there is this birth on Freebmd, but I cannot find it at the GRO

Garbett    Letitia Wilhams        Wolverhampton    6b   561

Wondering if Wilhams is a mistranscription

Added
Found her recorded as

GARBELL Letitia Williams     and the dreaded dash

I've submitted the correction to FreeBMD - middle name is WILLIAMS.

GRO have Letitia's surname as GARBELL - no mother's maiden name
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
He/she who never made a mistake, never made anything.
Archbell - anywhere, any date
Kendall - WRY
Milner - WRY
Appleyard - WRY

I have looked at the 1851 census again but its just unreadable really. The father says he is a forge man.I typed in on Ancestry William Williams .Spouse Mary ,lived Tipton. It came up as the 2nd one down.Father was born Clibery Shropshire. The only thing now is that there was a son Alfred 18,and Williams middle name was Alfred,so why have 2?But Shropshire could be a connection.I have a couple of widowers in my tree and i have never found the first marriage, its so maddening. Will keep looking.

I am sorry to confuse you more, but the military record says he died 1915 aged 81,which puts his birth at 1834,your man was born around 1846.

Thank you Glenys, yes, that is the son from the second marriage. I have all of them.

The 1915 death is him. But age is out.
I think the army record is likely the most reliable regarding his approx year of birth and that is 1837
