Albert is the Professor rather than Antoinette on the census page.

Well that was an entertaining diversion  :)

Thanks again Heywood.  I have found some obituary notices for the prof. from the 1890s.  They are also in the 1891 census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QQVX-YW2

Jebber, May I ask where you found the useful information that "Lea Antoinette DANCE (sometimes she reverses her names) was French, born in Paris in 1874 according to the census. She was in Malta, living in St. Francis Barracks," so I can try to follow that up.

She seems to have changed her age as it suited her: 28 and 38 in the 1881 and 1891 England census returns but 63 when she died in 1930.  If she also claimed a birth in 1874, she would have married at age 7 in 1881.  I am confused too about her last name: De la Brunetière/Klele.
