Robert Williams 1806 Bangor, Carnarvonshire, Wales
« on: Sunday 09 August 20 04:11 BST (UK) »
I am finding it difficult to find the parents of Robert Williams. What I have found is that he was born about 1806 in Bangor, Carnarvonshire, Wales and married Anne Griffith (daughter of Thomas Griffith and Catherine Williams) in 1833. His occupations were varied...Post Boy, Coachman, Sexton, Labourer. He passed away in 1885. If anyone can assist, I'd be grateful!

Hi Colin. Thank you for your suggestion and help. I found Robert Williams' probate record which indicated he passed away on 6 Jul 1885 and compared that to England and Wales Death Indexes and found that in the 3rd quarter of 1885, Robert Williams passed away at 79 years old making his birth 1806. This was consistent with his Census records from 1851-1881, so I'm quite certain he was born in 1806. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time census records were inaccurate, so I'll pursue your suggestion and see if it's possible. Many thanks! :)
