Louis Leadbeater

 Louis Leadbeater was born in Wrexham in 1854. I believe he may have been in the army for a short time.  Father was Thomas .
Can anyone help confirm this please.

Fold 3 has a record for a Lewis Leadbeater born Wrexham about 1853 to discharge in 1875 2nd battalion 23 rd Foot.  Fold3 requires an additional sub which I don't have. Findmypast has the entry in the Chelsea discharge register but there are no parental or other identifying details, 71 days service, discharged sick.

I don` t use FindMyPast , I`m on Anc.
 
My Louis had   a problem with drink and he appears in the papers on  countless occasions,  but there is a gap between these dates. Do they tie up with his discharge dates. 
 3rd April 1875, 12th August 1876.
 I`m guessing he was in the RWF.

The man on the register and the record cited by ShaunJ was essentially kicked out for being unfit for service and his record notes him being addicted to drink.  23rd Foot was the fore-runner of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.  The dates you give don't marry up exactly with the record which runs from enlistment at Aldershot 6 Sep 1875 to 19 Oct 1875 with final date 16 Nov 1875.  He states he is a plumber and glazier.

It him. A sad end, he was admitted to the Asylum in 1877 and died there in 1883.
His parents brought him home to be buried with younger siblings,  his father was buried with them in 1884.
After all he had done they still loved him.

He was judged unfit for army service because he was epileptic.
