I have 2 ships manifest/passenger lists from 1906 , and i consider them to be a pivotal moment in my family history. My ancestors where travelling from Liverpool to New York on the "SS Celtic " ship . I would be grateful if anyone could decipher the handwriting , i just can't!. Thanks.

Hello there,

May i say thank you for all your support with my posts on Rootschat . The info has been very useful and i have learnt a lot.
Regarding the ships Manifests. It was a fellow Rootschatter who emailed me the manifests , and i cannot screenshot them on the site . hence my recent request.

The key info i would like is the destination Address of my ancestor Richard P James and his friend Richard Paull in Pittsburgh US.

The writing on the document is very poor from 1906.So here goes.

ship manifest /list of Alien passengers 1906 Liverpool to New York.
SS "Celtic ".
my ancestor was Richard P James and his friend Richard Paull from Newlyn Cornwall. Richard James was a Labourer.

If you require anymore details please contact again. Thank you so much .

regards.

According to this thread which you started he was on the Coronia not the Celtic?

I can see them both on the passenger list, but can't see any destination address.

There is a Canada/USA Border Crossing card for a Richard James, who arrived in New York on board the Coronia in April 1906. Is that what you are referring to?

His destination address is simply Mr John Cotton, Pittsburgh, P.A.

There seems to be a family group of Jameses, and a few others including Richard Paull. They are all going to 'friend John Cotton in Pittsburgh P.A.'
