When did they marry?

Amy Ford born 1888 Swansea, parents Amos and Margaret Ford.  On the 1911 census Amy is married to Alfred John Wood with 2 young children.  I can find no marriage and it does not give how many years of marriage, on the original 1911 copy just says married  instead of years.  In 1915 they did marry. ( Mar 1915 Ford Amy Wood Bridgend 11a 1340)

I have looked on the GRO site and both children have Wood as the father.

What happened any ideas?  my first thought was they just lived together but Amy would of only been 17 when her first child was born, should mention they had another 2 children before the marriage in 1915.

Any help would be appreciated

They claimed they were married but they weren’t (yet). Not that unusual especially where parenthood happened very young.

It is likely they weren't married, just lived together and had children.

Simular thing with my great grandparents, they were together on the 1891 and 1901 and on the 1911 census it states they had been married for 20yrs, their first child was born in 1891 after they had 4 others, but I could never find their marriage, it was years later when I was looking for their childrens marriages I came across their marriage in 1918... I found my great grandfather had a 1st wife and it was only 2 months after she died that my great grandparents eventually married
