Samuel Edgar Price d. 1899 Georgia
« on: Friday 14 August 20 22:21 BST (UK) »
Samuel Edgar Price was born in NC in 1873/74. His NC ancestry is not at issue   He died during the "big black hole" year of 1899 in Georgia, leaving a widow and an unborn son.  He appears on the 1880 census as a child in NC, but his movements and whereabouts thereafter are a mystery until his widow shows up in Charlton Co Ga. in the 1900 census.   He is said to have died "in the Okeefenokee Swamp" at about 25 years old (accident, disease??).  Georgia has no civil death records that early

The only reference to someone meeting his description (S.E. Price, white, 25 years old) is a voter registration listing in Bulloch Co. in 1898.

Looking for context or sources of information (Bulloch Co, Charlton Co) to search for him.

Have you contacted the anc tree owners who give his date of death as 15/11/1899 ?

Birth of the son - Clifford Edgar Price - 25 April 1900 Folkston, Charlton, Georgia  -

For those searching records - 1900 census Folkston, Charlton, Georgia.

And I don't have a specific date of death, e.g., 15 November 1899.  I don't know of any trees that list that date.  Since his son was born in March/April 1900, he was conceived in June/July 1899.  I have no information about his Samuel's death.  So what trees are you referencing that have this date?

Similarly re Livious Colvin, b. NC 1871, you refer to an obituary in a Tampa newspaper.  I don't have that obituary for W.H. Colvion.   I suspect, like others, I can't open it.  Can you attach it?

Sorry but I am finding your replies rather blunt. Not one thank you or show of appreciation for the considerable time we are all spending trying to find the answers you want.

Referring to reply 3 - quote "Have you contacted the anc tree owners who give his date of death as 15/11/1899" ?

This answers the question you have just asked - you need to look on ancestry for the family tree and contact the owners of those tree's to see where they sourced there information.

L S Colvin was discussed on a different thread not this one. Here is the link for that thread.

Any links that we put on either thread should be accessible to you.

Good Luck
