I cannot find a death for an Emily Millicent ? who was born in 1884.

I can't either  ??? the death you mentioned 1972 gives Emily Elizabeth GRADY
born 27 7 1884 which ties in with the 1884 birth entry mmn Hughes

George Mortimer died in 1924, and Emily married William Grady in Hereford in 1927.

Was her middle name Millicent on this marriage cert. and was the same father's name given, his occupation?

Edit to add

Where the witnesses to either marriage family members?

I have not got the marriage certificate, I got the record off F.M.P, states father is William James Mitchell. Reluctant to send for certificate if it just going to tell me her name is Emily Millicent Miltchell and her father is William James Mitchell, or should I??

If William married Elizabeth bigamously in 1878, and was up in court in 1879, would the children they had be illegitimate?

I don't know if this link will be of any help  http://www.genguide.co.uk/source/civil-registration-birth-including-illegitimacy-england-amp-wales/19/

It seems the William John Mitchell who married Elizabeth Hughes on the 5th october 1878 was already married,
in august of 1879 he was sentenced to 4 months hard labour for bigamy.
I am looking for the parents of Emily Millicent Mitchell who married George Mortimer 27 august 1908 in Hereford, her father is stated as being William James Mitchell.

You know for certain that George Mortimer married Emily Millicent Mitchell.

Do you think that William JOHN Mitchell (who married Elizabeth HUGHES) &
William JAMES Mitchell (Father’s named on Emily Millicent Mitchell 2 marriages)
are the same person?

5 August 1879 Bigamy sentence his name is William JOHN Mitchell age 31 and he’s a Sailor

Have you found him on earlier censuses? Is his name William JOHN or William JAMES?

Both Emily & Amelia have put down their father as William James Mitchell on their marriage certificates, their older brother William James is living with his Aunt & Uncle Elizabeth Hughes sister Emily who is married to Joseph Edge in 1891 & 1901 census. A couple of family trees on ancestry have Emily Elizabeth as the person who married George Mortimer, so where does Millicent come from? I am really not sure if William James & William John are different people or not. Elizabeth is married but lodging with the Preece family on Olive Street, in Liverpool in 1881 census, no sign of her husband.

Do  they mention her fathers occupation?

Do they have him on censuses?

Who was his first wife?

Not that this helps on the 1920 - 1924 Electoral Register Hereford
Emily has no middle name

William George Mortimer
Emily Mortimer
address Asylum Cottages ( same address 1911c)
Same address in 1925/26 Emily Mortimer on her own

Confusingly  ::)there’s 1921 ER Hereford

William Grady
Emily Grady
Address Asylum Garden Cottages

1927/28
William & Emily Grady’s address Asylum Cottages
but still no middle name for Emily

1930/31 William & Emily’s address 6 Hospital Cottages with them
A J Grady (female) W B Grady (male)

Edit to add

Was William Grady’s first wife also named Emily? That would explain 1921 ER entry

1905 GRADY, ANNIE  JANE   mmn SKYRME
1909 GRADY, WILLIAM  BERNARD     mmn SKYRME

She was Emily Millicent Mitchell when she married George Mortimer, she was Emily M Mortimer when she married William Grady and she was Emily M Grady when she died, could she have just decided to change her middle name from Elizabeth to Millicent. If I was to send for a certificate which one would progress my search?
