Does anyone have access to Flintshire PR's ?
« on: Sunday 16 August 20 14:08 BST (UK) »
I wonder if you could help me please as I'm going slightly round the bend trying to find details of the the birth of William VAUGHAN which took place in Hope, Flintshire (spelt VAUGHN in the Index in Wrexham 1858), and as there's no  Mother's maiden name in the GRO Index, I can't trace either of his parents, though I'm pretty sure he was the illigitimate son of Jane VAUGHAN who appears with him (age 1.1/2) on the 1861 Census at the house of her mother & step-father, so after after hours spent searching in vain, I'm hoping there may be some more details in Hope Parish Records.

Very Many thanks, Anne    ::) ::) ::) ::)

Perhaps the actual birth certificate will give more details.  Abode, who registered the birth etc.

The William Vaughan you have in 1861 in Hope with his grandparents seems to be still in Hope in 1881 living with his grandmother, Sarah Jones. He was a Railway Porter.

Did he marry?  If so, the marriage cert might give some info about a possible  father.
