I've sent you the copy, Appears they had to get a dispensation (?) and then some figures which I am not to sure what they mean.
What are your thoughts on this.
Still looking for a Mary Pender & Patrick Dunning rather than the other way around lol

Has anyone got tips on how to decide which one (person) is yours.

As there are no census and marriage (civil) don't start (I've just googled this) until 1864 :) how do you determine between births of a year or so which is the correct birth/parents?
All tips appreciated

As I understand it dispensation was because of 2nd & 3rd degrees of consanguinity.

So they were probably 2nd/3rd cousins>
Hope I'll be able to find the common ancestor down the line!
Thanks for explaining.

I think 2nd degree is a bit closer...though different religions/cultures/governments have their own definitions.

Maybe look for Dunning/Pender/Prendergast baptisms in the same parish ca 1820...you'll need to browse Killenaule | Microfilm 02494 / 02 at https://registers.nli.ie/

Pender and Prendergast could be the same.
I know some Prendergasts and I've often heard them being called Pender.

Thanks, it is the one and only marriage for Patrick & Mary around the correct time/place.

Josey -  I found a great chart showing 1/2/3 degree so fully understand now. This might help determine who the parents were and how they were related to so very helpful.

Irish family history is so difficult.
